Crimson Labyrinth
Winding passages create a maze through the red rock formations
The narrow canyons and slot passages of Valley of Fire form a crimson labyrinth where visitors can explore intimate corridors carved by flash floods over thousands of years. These confined spaces intensify the red color of the sandstone, creating an almost surreal environment where the rock walls seem to pulse with inner fire. The labyrinthine quality of the landscape provided shelter and spiritual significance for Native American peoples, particularly the Ancestral Puebloans and later the Southern Paiute.
