Icelandic horses embody the spirit and resilience of their homeland

Icelandic horses represent one of the world's purest breeds, unchanged since Viking settlers brought them over 1,000 years ago. These hardy animals have adapted perfectly to Iceland's harsh climate, developing thick winter coats and sure footing on volcanic terrain. Known for their unique tölt gait and gentle temperament, they are considered family members rather than livestock. Strict import laws mean that once an Icelandic horse leaves the island, it can never return, preserving the breed's genetic purity.
