Strokkur erupts with clockwork regularity every 4-8 minutes

Strokkur, meaning 'the churn,' stands as Iceland's most reliable geyser, erupting with remarkable consistency every 4-8 minutes to heights of 15-20 meters. Located in the Haukadalur geothermal valley, this geyser sits directly on the Mid-Atlantic Ridge where the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates are slowly pulling apart. The regular eruptions result from a perfect combination of underground heat, water supply, and geological plumbing that creates a natural pressure cooker deep beneath the surface.
